MLM Training: Some Keys To Creating High Converting Lead Capture Pages
I’m currently going through some capture page testing for a new business opportunity I’m building and have been testing capture pages that I can roll out to the team so I thought this would be the perfect time to share with you what I already knew about creating effective lead capture pages as well as my recent experience. It’s not always what you think!
Some MLM tips for creating high converting capture pages that I’ve already learned from some of the masters are as follows:
1. Simple Works Best
2. Red is a high converting text color
3. Video vs. No Video really depends. There’s no hard and fast rule
Now, if you don’t know, a lead capture page is really the first step in your marketing funnel. Ultimately you want to make sales and get sign-ups but FIRST you need to generate leads. A good lead capture page will give just enough information to entice someone to enter their name and email address (and maybe phone number) into the opt-in form on your capture page looking for more information.
The “capture pages” that some business opportunities give their affiliates with the name of the business right on the capture page DO NOT WORK AT ALL! You need to keep your capture page generic or people can just Google the information they’re looking for without providing you with their contact information. This is referred to as a FAIL!
So, again, simple works best. I’ve always been told that RED is the highest converting color – specifically #cc0000 (html code)). I find that using Red and Black typically produces the best results, although a little blue and a cool image can also help.
You want to stay away from using graphic intensive capture pages. While they may look really cool, they don’t usually convert very well. You also need to “test” your results. Sometimes a word change, font change or graphic change can make all the difference in the world. I was testing 1 capture page that I thought would pull really well and it bombed. I used the same capture page minus 1 picture (The “Attention” image) and it upped the conversion rate 4X!
To summarize this MLM Training, you just want to go with the basics and then TEST! Your results may surprise you!

Viridian Energy was founded in 2009 in Norwalk, Connecticut. I used to live in Norwalk and it’s not exactly an MLM corporate hotbed so I found this interesting. The Founder and CEO is Michael Fallquist. I didn’t find any negative information while doing a quick Google search which is a good sign. As is the case with any company, ultimately it’s the leadership that will create the success or failure of the business and Viridian appears to have strong leadership at the corporate level.
The mission of the company is to provide greener electricity at an affordable price, allowing our customers and independent Associates to make a difference in the environment and their personal lives simply by switching energy providers.
Spending my life in the network marketing arena, the “greener” electricity element is Viridian’s unique selling proposition and sets them apart from industry leader Ambit Energy. Ambit seems to be the most popular of the energy MLMs at this time.
Viridian Energy Reviews: The Business Opportunity
Part of the recruiting effort in the MLM energy niche is the talk about energy deregulation. This talk has been going on for a long time without much movement on a national level. There are only a few states that have absolute deregulation and some have been this way for years. While everyone likes to save money, switching their energy supplier is just not something on the top of people’s minds. That’s where MLM comes in but you really need a motivated sales force (YES, I said “Sales!) to get the word out about Viridian and the other energy MLMs.
While you can make money just by switching people’s energy over to Viridian (you’ll receive a percentage of the monthly bill of everyone you sign up), the real money is made by recruiting a team of distributors. This way you can leverage the work of others to really build a nice residual income. Where I see people stray off this path is when they think they are “energy consultants” rather than MLM reps. They get caught up in selling energy rather than recruiting other people and struggle to make any decent income.
To summarize this Viridian Energy Review, I would say that Viridian offers potential to earn an income. I think the state limitation holds them back, along with the other energy companies, from being able to grow as much as they would like. That being said, there are reps in Viridian Energy making really good income. They are the ones who have either been involved in MLM for a long time and have connections OR they learned how to effectively market their business.
Building an MLM is a process. You first need to generate traffic, then leads, then relationships, then sign-ups. It’s a simple process BUT it’s not easy. If you never learn how to drive traffic to your website, you will struggle with your Viridian business or any other MLM you get involved with. It’s really that simple.

Has Your WordPress Blogged Been Hacked? What To Do Next…

My primary wordpress blog, the one where I drive the majority of my traffic to and that generates me the majority of my leads and ultimately income, was hacked on Saturday for the first time since my site went live in 2009. It was pretty ominous because Google apparently has some really good processes in place that immediately inform visitors to your site that there’s some “Malicious” software running on this site and you better leave immediately! That’s not a very welcoming message for your visitors to get, needless to say and it’s not great for business.
Here’s the message my visitors were getting…
It turned out that the hacker logged into one of my WordPress blog sites, NOT the one that was infected, and placed some malicious virus script in a plug-in. I’m not even entirely sure how the virus went from 1 blog to another. Anyway, my host – Hostgator – was extremely helpful. Within an hour of contacting them, they had the virus removed and I was ready to go. EXCEPT…
The reported attack site was still appearing. This is a message from Google so I needed to contact Google and have them check my site so they could clear the warning message. They did this the same day and by Sunday I was up and running like nothing had ever happened.
I would definitely recommend creating strong passwords for your sites. I’ve changed mine from “weak” to “strong” passwords. There are security software products out there and I’m looking into getting one to prevent this from happening again!
To Change Your WordPress Password: You need to log into your WordPress Admin Panel and in the dashboard scroll down on the left hand site to “USERS”. Click on edit and scroll down to the bottom. You’ll see where you can enter a new password. Pretty simple!
