I wanted to share an extremely important point with you that I unfortunately learned the hard way!
A couple of days ago, my webhost where I host this blog (which is the HUB of all of my marketing efforts and attraction marketing strategy) got hacked and many sites – including this one – along with the host’s back-up files were deleted. This really sucked!
I was luckily backing up my database every day but was not aware that I was not backing up everything. As it stands now, I am in the process of updating all of the links to my images because they no longer work. This is because I was not updating my content and image directories (although I did not know this). Anyway…you have a couple of options but I highly recommend backing up your wordpress site on a daily basis. It’s not difficult at all. This is exactly what you need to do:
1. Download and Install the “WordPress Database Backup” Plugin. This plugin backs up all of your databases that contain the pages and posts of your site.
2. Download and Install the “WordPress Backup” Plugin. This plugin works alongside #1 by backing up your image and content directories. You can also utilize the back-up feature in WordPress in place of this plug-in but will need to manually do the backup process daily.
You can set up both plug-ins to back up your databases daily and email them to you in a zip file.
I hope this helps and saves you the headache I’m going through right now! Please share this with everyone you know who uses WordPress.
