I just listened to a Podcast with internet network marketer Stuart Ross and James Holmes that really resonated with me and I wanted to share. I have written on this topic before and it was nice to hear that a couple of marketers who are very well respected in the industry share my thoughts.
The bottom line is that, if you are looking to make a 6-Figure or greater income in your first year with your network marketing company, you are best served by going with a high-ticket direct sales business.
We know that there are 2 basic network marketing compensation plans:
1. Traditional MLM Compensation Plan – This is the type of compensation plan that can be extremely lucrative but takes a lot of time and effort to build a massive downline of active distributors because you only make a little bit of money off of the efforts of each person. These businesses also typically have a monthly autoship payment associated with them.
2. High Ticket Direct Sales – A direct sales business generally costs more upfront but does not have a monthly fee associated and also does not have the multi-level compensation structure. In most cases, they will either have a 1-Up or 2-Up compensation plan. In addition, you will receive a much bigger commission for each sale that you make and for the first or first two sales made by your team.
Why Choose Direct Sales Over An MLM Compensation Plan?
Unless you are a veteran of the home based business wars, and have experience successfully building large downlines, you have a much better chance of being successful with a direct sales business, where you have far greater control over your income. You receive a sizeable commission for every sale that you make. Then, you receive passive income from the initial sales of your team. This is important because the average network marketer makes 2.3 sales before leaving their company. Ahh…NOW you understand why it’s so difficult to earn the substantial commissions promised by your traditional MLM compensation plans! You need big commission products or business opportunities to make the big money. Period!
Now, don’t get me wrong, you still need to learn how to effectively market your business or you won’t succeed – no matter how great your business opportunity is. But if you are able to market, then the odds are in your favor with a high-ticket direct sales business over MLM in my opinion.
