Closing & Recruiting Into Your Network Marketing Business
I was on the My Lead System Pro morning wake-up call yesterday and Ray Higdon was the featured speaker. Ray’s a top leader in MLSP as well as in his primary business. His presentations always make a lot of sense to me so I thought I’d share some of the nuggets with you in case you missed it.
We all know that much of SUCCESS in network marketing – and entrepreneurship in general – has to do with mindset. It’s imperative that you feel and act successful and that you don’t let negative thoughts enter your mind.
Ray talked about how to close and recruit into your business and he mentioned the word “Posturing”. This is the old sales mantra – “never let them see you sweat”! What this means is never sell or recruit out of desperation (even if you’ve never recruited anyone yet!). You need to appear confident and that the person needs you more than you need them. I’ve learned this ever since my first sales job out of college and it is very IMPORTANT that you understand this philosophy.
Ray’s opening line, when he calls a lead, goes like this…”What has changed recently in your life that has you looking at a home based business?” This is a great opener and gets the prospect talking right away since it’s an “open-ended” question. He went on to say that if they say “Nothing’s Changed”, your response should be something like “Why are we talking then? What has you interested in (YOUR BUSINESS)?”
You want to “Posture” to make the prospect feel as though they’re not guaranteed to work with you and that you are only seeking to work with the best people who will also take their business seriously like you do. I know from personal experience that this mindset is necessary for true success.
