In another installment in my series of business opportunity reviews, to determine which network marketing businesses should be considered 10 best home based business opportunities, I would like to provide you with some solid information regarding the Trump Network. I have no affiliation whatsoever with Trump Network so my Trump Network Review can be considered completely unbiased.

In my opinion, the key points to be considered when determining if a network marketing opportunity should be considered a 10 best home based business opportunity are Ownership, Longevity or Long-Term Vision, Product, and Compensation Plan. Let’s take a look at what the Trump Network has to offer.

OWNERSHIP: The name Donald Trump is obviously synonymous with big business. “The Donald” is a leader of industry and one of the most successful business men of our generation. Why in the world would he lend his name to a multi-level marketing business? Simple…there is big money in MLM. And, his name provides Trump Network with immediately credibility (nobody will think it’s a scam) and network marketers will want to join a program with the Trump name..many without even caring about the products.

LONGEVITY or LONG-TERM VISION: This is the Mission Statement taken directly from the Trump Network website:

“The Trump Network’s mission is to encourage its Independent Marketers to achieve personal financial independence.

By promoting and coordinating the networking activities of marketers through a structured program of education, sales of cutting-edge nutritional and wellness products, rewards and incentive plans, the goal of The Trump Network is to assist millions of people to succeed with creating their financial dream.

The Trump Network products include highly-advanced, scientifically-proven health and wellness products, including customized testing and metabolic analysis, effective weight-management solutions and vitamin and mineral supplements.

We encourage all of our members and potential members to take charge of their future. There’s a big difference between opportunity and success. Invite your friends and family, and everyone you know to join our team.”

PRODUCTS: The MLM industry is seemingly one filled with companies pitching potions, lotions, vitamins and the like. The Trump Network does not disappoint. The product mix falls directly in the health and wellness niche, offering vitamin supplements as their product. But, with a twist! They offer something I think is revolutionary…their revolutionary PrivaTest. The PrivaTest is a home test you take that will then be analyzed by scientists to determine exactly what vitamins, minerals, and vital nutrients YOUR BODY needs every day. The vitamin supplements are not one-size fits all but rather each is tailored directly to the individual based on their PrivaTest results. Time will tell whether or not this is a gimmick but it’s a pretty cool idea nonetheless.

COMPENSATION: The website recommends joining the Trump Network business opportunity The FastStart Way. This is a one-time product and marketing DVD/CD purchase of $500 for a 3 month supply. You will earn $100 for every direct referral you bring into the business that also purchases the FastStart package. You must also enroll in the monthly product autoship for $129.20 per month. So, as you can see, this is not an inexpensive business. The compensation plan seems pretty standard for this type of MLM business, and can be downloaded in its entirety at www.trumpnetwork.com.

CONCLUSION: The Trump Network is a very new network business opportunity. It’s really too early to tell whether or not it already is a “10 Best Home Based Business” but it definitely has the potential to be one. I defintely do not think Trump Network is a scam. By just having the Trump name and financial muscle behind the marketing efforts, the business has a good chance of long-term success. Many people will join just for the Trump name and no other factors so recruiting might be a little easier than for other MLMs. The more people who join creates more competition for the marketers too.

To build yourself a sizeable downline — of 100s or 1000s of distributors — which you will need to make serious money with the Trump Network, you will need to know how to market. You will need to know how to separate yourself from your competition to become a leader so that people want to join YOU. If you do this, you can immediately separate yourself  from 95% of your competition who will never learn this key marketing strategy. Remember…a business that is not constantly growing is a dying business! Good luck!

I wanted to write an article today targeted at the new or struggling network marketer. Today is 12/31/09, and tomorrow brings us to a new year and a new decade. It’s really hard to believe how fast time flies! Will 2010 be your best year financially and emotionally? A year that you will look back on years from now as the year that you finally “broke though”? Your network marketing business finally earned you the type of income that you have been looking for. You were finally able to “figure it out”. The financial stresses of life just washed away.

In this article, I will show you the 10 best home based business marketing strategies that you can implement immediately to skyrocket your business. To begin generating 25- 100 network marketing leads a day, which is a number that you must be able to hit consistently.  It is my sincere hope that this article will change a few lives in 2010. Let’s get to it:

1. Learn Attraction Marketing. This is the concept of creating your image to the way you want people to see you. To “brand” your self online as a leader. To separate yourself from you competition. Mike Dillard coined the phrase “attraction marketing” and offers many terrific products to help you implement the strategy. If you learn Attraction Marketing, you will immediately catapult yourself ahead of the majority of your competition. This is not an optional strategy.

2. Create A Blog. Creating your own blog goes hand-in-hand with the principals of Attraction Marketing. Of creating your online persona. I recommend a wordpress blog…there are plenty of free themes like mine and you can also purchase some very cool themes. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you self-host your blog. Buy a domain (ideally a domain with your name in it to help brand YOU) and pay for hosting with a hosting company. This is very inexpensive. You do not want a free blog hosted by WordPress or Blogger. The free sites will limit your ability to advertise your business(es) and could shut you down for spamming. You don’t want to put in a ton of work on your blog, only to have it shut down and have to start over.

3. Make Your Blog SEO Friendly. This is very important, while setting up your blog. I’m still learning little tips and strategies for helping your search-engine friendliness. There’s tons of information on this topic and most of it is free. One tip that I did not know until I got up and going is to purchase your domain name for more than 1 year. You will have an option to purchase longer terms at a discount when you first purchase your domain. Google likes domains that do not expire in 1 year or less.

4. Article Marketing. This is a great inexpensive marketing strategy that will generate you tons of free leads, if done correctly. It takes time to build it up so that you get enough traffic to your site. Be consistent. Build it and they will come! It does you no good if you create the coolest blog on the planet but nobody but you ever sees it! There are tools that allow you to upload your articles to social networks and article directories in minutes. Some can be found for free as well.

5. Buid A List. Nothing is more important. You need to build your own list. There are many different ways to do this and this is the key step that most people do not do effectively in my opinion. It took me a while to figure out. Those who know me know that I love MLM Lead System Pro. It’s the most system for building your own list that I’ve found.

6. Get an Auto-Responder Account. I use AWeber but there are a few different and well thought of auto-responders on the market. An auto-responder allows your prospects to “opt-in” to your offer (so it’s SPAM free) and get on your email list. The auto-responder will then follow-up with your prospects via emails that, over time, will improve your conversion rates. They say that a person needs to see an online offer at least 7 times before they buy. Keeping your name and product in front of them will do that for you…on auto-pilot.

7. Email Marketing. Email marketing is the most effective, as well as cost effective, form of online marketing. It enables you to get your message in front of thousands of targeted prospects in minutes. Join listbuilders such as Viral URL and Viral Hosts, and Safelists such as Herculist and List Volta, and Ad Exchanges. Many let you email for free by clicking on emails to earn mail credits. I recommend upgrading in the list builders and safelists if you can afford it. You get a much bigger bang for your buck and you won’t have to click on emails to earn credits.

8. Social Networks. You will want to be in places where you can be seen, to help you to build your reputation online as a leader. At a bare minimum, you need to have a business Facebook account and a Twitter account. There’s a ton of training on how to effectively manage these types of accounts and generate network marketing leads from them. There are plenty of other social networks and forums out there as well. They key with these, as with any of your marketing efforts, is to be consistent. They take time to build them to where they’ll be effective marketing strategies for you. Just keep at it.

9. Video Marketing. Admittedly, this is where I have dropped the ball and this is my main area of focus going into the new year. Video is huge and Google loves video. Creating videos are a great way to get top search engine placement. While I am more drawn in to written ads personally, conversion rates tell me that video works better.

10. Never Stop Learning. This is where you can really separate yourself from your competition. Most adults stop seeking education. What they know is what they know. Network Marketing and online marketing is a dynamic business. Again, I use MLM Lead System Pro for my one-stop online marketing college. For another installment of my search for the “Top 10 Best Home Based Business” opportunities on the internet, I will take a look at Global Resorts Network. Global Resorts Network, or GRN, is another high-ticket online business opportunity that falls into the G.P.T. (Get Paid Today) category of Direct Sales. This is not a traditional MLM business.

I would like to point out that this review is completely unbiased as I am not a member of Global Resorts Network, nor have I ever been a member. The information that I am providing is purely based on the results of my research while doing my due diligence on the business for myself as well as to determine if GRN can be considered a 10 best home based business opportunity for would-be network marketers.

Longevity: The Global Resorts Network business opportunity is associated with a discount travel agency (Gold Crown Resorts) that has been in existence for over 20 years. For years, travelers have been buying the travel membership direct from the company. In 2006, Global Resorts Network was born as a network marketing arm for selling the business opportunity along with the travel membership. Since the average lifespan of an online business is less than 6 months, the fact that GRN has been around for over 3 years is definitely a positive.

Product: The product is a discount travel club membership that offers vacations to 4 and 5 start resorts for pennies on the dollar ($298 – $700 per week). The discount travel business is extremely competitive, and for the costs associated with it that I’ll discuss below, people are not buying the product as a stand-alone as often. The economy certainly has something to do with that as well. For this reason, people who join are exclusively joining for the business opportunity and then earning commissions by bringing others into the business and not from the sale of the product. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it is typical in network marketing but is worth pointing out. Members also have exclusive access to the travel club for their personal use.

Marketing System: This is where Global Resorts Network falls short of a Top 10 Best Home Based Business opportunity in my opinion. It doesn’t offer a truly turn-key marketing system, but rather offers up to 5 different systems. Depending on your sponsor, you will most likely use their system which may or may not be the best for you. And, the costs for the marketing system will range from $29.95 – $300 per month depending on the system. Having numerous marketing systems causes internal competition amongst the GRN members. If you look at the sales capture pages, many are geared not only to recruiting into GRN but you better use our system or you won’t succeed. This makes recruiting new members even more difficult.

Cost: The cost to become an independent distributor for Global Resorts Network is $1,495 for a Gold Membership and $2,995 for the Platinum Membership (their most popular membership level). There is also an additional monthly system fee of $29.95 – $300, depending on the marketing system you use, as mentioned above. In addition, you have your own advertising budget like any other online business. This is high, but not when you consider the cost of starting up a brick-and-mortar business in your town.

Compensation: It’s pretty simple. Global Resorts Network uses a compensation plan they call Perpetual Leverage. When selling a Platinum Membership, you receive $1000 and your sponsor receives $1000 ($500 for a Gold Membership in both cases). Then, whenever one of your direct referrals makes a sale, you will make $1000. So, to make six-figures in your first year you and your direct referrals combined will need to make 100 sales. They key to earning with this business is to build a strong team because your team will need to make a sale every 3-4 days.

Summary: I was turned off by the numerous marketing systems, which makes it very difficult to choose your sponsor. It’s difficult to figure out who is really successful and who is a poser. GRN would be a very difficult business for the newbie due to the costs and the competition from serious, experienced marketers. For this reason, I cannot say that Global Resorts Network is a Top “10 Best Home Based Business” opportunity.

Here’s another article in my quest to find the 10 Best Home Based Business Opportunities available to the online network marketer. In this installment, I will give you a completely unbiased review of Carbon Copy Pro which is another high-end G.P.T. (Get Paid Today) program. I will preface this review of Carbon Copy Pro by telling you that I am not a member of the program nor have I ever been a member. The information provided has been learned while doing my due-diligence while researching the business.

Longevity: Carbon Copy Pro has been in business for over 2 years, having begun in October 2007. This is generally considered to be a good sign as the average lifespan of an online business opportunity is less than 6 months. Having been in business for over 2 years tells me that the owner, Jay Kubassek, is running Carbon Copy Pro as a legitimate business and wants to continue to grow it.

Owner: As I mentioned above, the owner of Carbon Copy Pro is Jay Kubassek who is based in NY. The feedback online about Jay is generally favorable and he is a very successful businessman. The company actually has an office in NYC with staff, which can be unusual for the home based business industry where even the owner operates the venture out of their house. This is a positive sign, in my opinion, that the company is generating enough income to allow them to lease very expensive NYC office space. This could also mean that they charge too much for the program!

Product: Carbon Copy Pro is actually not a product, but a funded proposal marketing system designed to market the Wealth Masters International product/business opportunity. Wealth Master International is a direct sales company that sells information on financial solutions through its books, DVDs, and conferences. CCPro charges a $39 application fee just to learn more about the business…but you can just Google “Carbon Copy Pro” and find out everything you need to know, which is what I did. Just a note too, they will waive the application fee in one of their auto-responder emails if you sign-up for more information and wait for that email.

Cost: This is where I feel that Carbon Copy Pro does not qualify as a “Top 10 Best Home Based Business”. There are many fees associated with the program, which will eliminate the majority of people searching for a legitimate home based business, even those willing to spend some money. You will have a $49 monthly fee for CCPro to use their system plus an additional $149/month fee for access to other services. Then, you will need to buy into one of the 3 Wealth Masters International packages – M1 = $1,995, M2 = $8,995, M3 = $19,995. I assume that most members join at the $1,995 level but do not know this for a fact. These costs are in addition to your monthly advertising budget since Carbon Copy Pro does not promote your website for you.

Summary: I want to add to that if you Google “Carbon Copy Pro”, you will see that there are over 1.2 million websites mentioning it. Many of those sites are promoting the program so that means that your competition will be stiff. Many of the people associated with the program are experienced marketers and many are successful with the program. It will be difficult for the newer or less experienced marketer to compete for their share of the pie, in my opinion. Carbon Copy Pro is definitely a legitimate business, just not one of the 10 best home based business opportunities out there right now. Do your due diligence prior to joining.

In my quest to find the Top 10 Best Home Based Business opportunities online, I have been looking very seriously at YourNetBiz. I want to preface this article by saying that I am not nor have I ever been a member of YourNetBiz so I am not trying to sell you on this business opportunity. This completely unbiased review will contain my findings that I’ve discovered through my due diligence and a determination of whether or not this online business meets my criteria of being one of the 10 best home based business programs for the online marketing entrepreneur.

YourNetBiz falls into the category of high-end direct sales businesses. This is not an MLM (multi-level-marketing). The entry cost for membership of their Platinum product suite, which is their most popular membership level, is $2,995 plus $59.95 per month. You’ve probably heard the term G.P.T. (Get Paid Today). YourNetBiz falls into that category as you can begin earning substantial commissions immediately rather than waiting to grow a team of 1000s as you would in a traditional MLM business.

Longevity: The average lifespan of an online business opportunity is less than 6 months. Most of the compensation models are not sustainable business models. Plus the owners of the program just keep starting new programs and trying to capitalize on the hype of a program launch. YourNetBiz has been in business since 2007, beginning life as MyInternetBusiness. This is an eternity online and indicates that the owner of the program is running it as a business and not a get rich quick scheme.

Owner: The owner of YourNetBiz is Rob Hannley. Rob has a very good reputation online and amongst the membership. He’s very involved in the business, transparent, and listens to the membership’s recommendations on improving the program. This is almost unheard of. I have been in businesses where I didn’t even know who the owners were (I’m not proud of this)! He runs YourNetBiz like a business, which it is, and he doesn’t run any other businesses that I am aware of.

Product: Many online businesses forget that they need to offer a product! Or, at least a product of value. YourNetBiz offers value in a product suite of online marketing productivity and education tools. This includes software, e-books (not the ones you can find online for free like most lower end programs), weekly conference calls, and a recently added Discount Travel Club for the Platinum members. Lower level members receive discount travel certificates. In my opinion, the Discount Travel Club is a major addition to the product suite and puts YourNetBiz ahead of its main competition, Global Resorts Network (who only offers the travel club membership). The recent addition of a new product also shows me that the company is not standing still and is continuing to grow and ad value for the members.

Compensation: As I mentioned earlier, YourNetBiz is a direct sales or G.P.T. business. You make commission from your direct sales and an override from the sales of your direct referrals. One-Level deep to compare with traditional MLM. This is the compensation plan you want if you are looking to make substantial money quickly online. A G.P.T. program is the only way to make six-figures online in your first year. Using the Platinum membership as an example, you make $2000 on every $2,995 sale. You will then make $500 on every sale that your direct referral makes. $495 goes to the company. You can see how you can earn substantial commissions, particularly if you build a strong team.

Summary: It is my feeling that YourNetBiz definitely meets the criteria to be considered a “10 Best Home Based Business”. This type of business attracts serious marketers. People who are looking to earn a substantial income online. They are also typically more experienced business people and marketers. The competition can be stiff. For this reason, you really need to know how to market online effectively and have a proven system in place to ensure your success. Traditional MLM, companies such as Amway, Mark Kay, Avon, and many more offer inexpensive products for their sales force to sell. This is also done traditionally through house parties or face-to-face sales. Certainly, this business can also be run onine. To make a substantial income with MLM, you will need to recruit a massive sales-force from which you will earn commissions on their product sales as well as your own. We’re talking $1-10, which is why you need to have a large downline. Thousands of people under you since many will quit within the first 90 days so constant recruiting is one of the requirements of the job. These opportunities are typically inexpensive to join, which makes them very popular.

There are also Direct Sales companies which can be considered top 10 home-based business opportunities. Companies such as YourNetBiz, Carbon Copy Pro, Global Resorts Network. The list is extensive. With these businesses, your cost to join is generally higher — a few thousand in most cases — but you make a large commission on each sale. Many less sales are required and much less recruiting is required to generate a six-figure plus annual income. And, you can make money much faster in a direct sales business than a traditional MLM business.

My feeling is this. It would be completely subjective of me to just list the top 10 best home based business opportunies and tell you that’s it. Those who do are doing a disservice in my opinion. It is better for the business opportunity seeker to do their own research as there are many viable businesses out there. It is considered better to look for businesses that have been around for at least 2 years, but it can also be financially rewarding to get into a new company early.

No matter what business you decide to join, it will be imperative to generate leads.
