See Why You Can Make More Money Online From A Top Tier Direct Sales Business

I just listened to a Podcast with internet network marketer Stuart Ross and James Holmes that really resonated with me and I wanted to share. I have written on this topic before and it was nice to hear that a couple of marketers who are very well respected in the industry share my thoughts.

The bottom line is that, if you are looking to make a 6-Figure or greater income in your first year with your network marketing company, you are best served by going with a high-ticket direct sales business.

We know that there are 2 basic network marketing compensation plans:

1. Traditional MLM Compensation Plan – This is the type of compensation plan that can be extremely lucrative but takes a lot of time and effort to build a massive downline of active distributors because you only make a little bit of money off of the efforts of each person. These businesses also typically have a monthly autoship payment associated with them.

2. High Ticket Direct Sales – A direct sales business generally costs more upfront but does not have a monthly fee associated and also does not have the multi-level compensation structure. In most cases, they will either have a 1-Up or 2-Up compensation plan. In addition, you will receive a much bigger commission for each sale that you make and for the first or first two sales made by your team.

Why Choose Direct Sales Over An MLM Compensation Plan?

Unless you are a veteran of the home based business wars, and have experience successfully building large downlines, you have a much better chance of being successful with a direct sales business, where you have far greater control over your income. You receive a sizeable commission for every sale that you make. Then, you receive passive income from the initial sales of your team. This is important because the average network marketer makes 2.3 sales before leaving their company. Ahh…NOW you understand why it’s so difficult to earn the substantial commissions promised by your traditional MLM compensation plans! You need big commission products or business opportunities to make the big money. Period!

Now, don’t get me wrong, you still need to learn how to effectively market your business or you won’t succeed – no matter how great your business opportunity is. But if you are able to market, then the odds are in your favor with a high-ticket direct sales business over MLM in my opinion.

“Top Tier” Direct Sales Business or Traditional MLM Business?

I attended a webinar last night that was hosted by Daegan Smith, on building a network marketing business. He discussed his thoughts on this topic and they really resonated with me. The points he made about choosing the right business model  for you were dead-on with the way I feel so I thought I’d share this with all of you.

Which home based business model is for you? This is a question that most current or prospective network marketers do not think enough about before they get involved with a home based business opportunity.

A Traditional MLM Compensation Plan is based on recruiting a “downline”, building a large team, and earning residual commissions (you earn each month your downline team member renews their monthly auto-ship). The cost of entry is typically somewhere between $50 – $300 and has a recurring monthly “auto-ship” payment of $50 – $100. The predominant products in this type of business are health and wellness and nutrition.

Pro’s

  1. Low Start-Up Cost.
  2. Can Build Passive, Residual income.
  3. Dream of having a massive team and huge residual check can make it easier for recruiting.

Con’s

  1. Low Cost can attract hobbiest, non-serious marketers.
  2. It takes a long time to build a team to earn decent money (generally about 500 paying members to earn $3000). Potentially 3-5 years, depending on your experience level and current following.
  3. The company could go out of business by the time you’ve built a decent sized organization.
  4. High attrition rate. The industry  has an average annual attrition rate of 85%. People stop paying for their monthly auto-ship when they aren’t making any money.

A Top-Tier Direct Sales business compensation plan is a higher-ticket “one time purchase” product that can cost anywhere from $1000 – $10, 000 or more. In this business model, you get paid a large commission upfront and sometimes additional income based on team members production but do not receive on-going residual commissions. Pro’s

  1. Get Paid a substantial commission immediately when you make a sale.
  2. Can Earn a “Job Replacing” Income Quickly.
  3. Higher cost attracts more professional, serious marketers.
  4. Higher, one-time start up costs provides a feeling of business ownership and lower attrition rate.

Con’s

  1. Higher entry cost can create a longer sales cycle (people need to think longer before joining).
  2. You are not building a residual income. You will need to keep selling to earn commissions.
  3. Higher cost eliminates many marketers who cannot afford to join your business, even if they want to.

You should also consider the product. Does it excite you? Can you market it enthusiastically? Would you rather make sales yourself or help your team members with their marketing?

Next time you join a network marketing business opportunity, give some thought to what type of business you would like to build. Neither is better. Just  which business  model suits your personality and expertise. Then…go for it!

The 10 Best Home Based Business Opportunites

As you may or not be aware, starting a home based business is all the rage right now. With the economy in the tank and unemployment numbers at near record highs and companies still either laying off or shutting the doors outright, it has become imperative for people to take control of their careers. The days of working for the same employer for your entire career have been gone for sometime, and now the days of working for someone else are slowly disappearing as well.

There are over 1 million people a day going online to see if they can start making money with a 10 best home based business. Some people are lookng to just make a few hundred bucks a month to provide some extra spending money and others are looking to replace their full-time income working on the internet. With the internet now available to billions of people world-wide, the opportunities to make substantial money working from home in one of the 10 best home based businesses or many lesser known businesses are very real.

Network marketing, MLM, or Direct Sales companies are the primary businesses available online to would-be internet entrepreneurs. This market offers tremendous opportunity but, at the same time, much confusion. How do you differentiate the best 10 home based business from the scams? This is extremely difficult, even for veterans of the industry. Then, you need to decide if you want to join an old-style MLM (Multi-Leve Marketing) company or a Direct Sales (G.P.T.) company. Both of which can offer “10 Best Home Based Business” potential.

Traditional MLM, companies such as Amway, Mark Kay, Avon, and many more offer inexpensive products for their sales force to sell. This is also done traditionally through house parties or face-to-face sales. Certainly, this business can also be run onine. To make a substantial income with MLM, you will need to recruit a massive sales-force from which you will earn commissions on their product sales as well as your own. We’re talking $1-10, which is why you need to have a large downline. Thousands of people under you since many will quit within the first 90 days so constant recruiting is one of the requirements of the job. These opportunities are typically inexpensive to join, which makes them very popular.

There are also Direct Sales companies which can be considered top 10 home-based business opportunities. Companies such as YourNetBiz, Carbon Copy Pro, Global Resorts Network. The list is extensive. With these businesses, your cost to join is generally higher — a few thousand in most cases — but you make a large commission on each sale. Many less sales are required and much less recruiting is required to generate a six-figure plus annual income. And, you can make money much faster in a direct sales business than a traditional MLM business.

My feeling is this. It would be completely subjective of me to just list the top 10 best home based business opportunies and tell you that’s it. Those who do are doing a disservice in my opinion. It is better for the business opportunity seeker to do their own research as there are many viable businesses out there. It is considered better to look for businesses that have been around for at least 2 years, but it can also be financially rewarding to get into a new company early.

No matter what business you decide to join, it will be imperative to generate leads.
