10 Best Home Based Business Strategies for 2010
I wanted to write an article today targeted at the new or struggling network marketer. Today is 12/31/09, and tomorrow brings us to a new year and a new decade. It’s really hard to believe how fast time flies! Will 2010 be your best year financially and emotionally? A year that you will look back on years from now as the year that you finally “broke though”? Your network marketing business finally earned you the type of income that you have been looking for. You were finally able to “figure it out”. The financial stresses of life just washed away.
In this article, I will show you the 10 best home based business marketing strategies that you can implement immediately to skyrocket your business. To begin generating 25- 100 network marketing leads a day, which is a number that you must be able to hit consistently. It is my sincere hope that this article will change a few lives in 2010. Let’s get to it:
1. Learn Attraction Marketing. This is the concept of creating your image to the way you want people to see you. To “brand” your self online as a leader. To separate yourself from you competition. Mike Dillard coined the phrase “attraction marketing” and offers many terrific products to help you implement the strategy. If you learn Attraction Marketing, you will immediately catapult yourself ahead of the majority of your competition. This is not an optional strategy.
2. Create A Blog. Creating your own blog goes hand-in-hand with the principals of Attraction Marketing. Of creating your online persona. I recommend a wordpress blog…there are plenty of free themes like mine and you can also purchase some very cool themes. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you self-host your blog. Buy a domain (ideally a domain with your name in it to help brand YOU) and pay for hosting with a hosting company. This is very inexpensive. You do not want a free blog hosted by WordPress or Blogger. The free sites will limit your ability to advertise your business(es) and could shut you down for spamming. You don’t want to put in a ton of work on your blog, only to have it shut down and have to start over.
3. Make Your Blog SEO Friendly. This is very important, while setting up your blog. I’m still learning little tips and strategies for helping your search-engine friendliness. There’s tons of information on this topic and most of it is free. One tip that I did not know until I got up and going is to purchase your domain name for more than 1 year. You will have an option to purchase longer terms at a discount when you first purchase your domain. Google likes domains that do not expire in 1 year or less.
4. Article Marketing. This is a great inexpensive marketing strategy that will generate you tons of free leads, if done correctly. It takes time to build it up so that you get enough traffic to your site. Be consistent. Build it and they will come! It does you no good if you create the coolest blog on the planet but nobody but you ever sees it! There are tools that allow you to upload your articles to social networks and article directories in minutes. Some can be found for free as well.
5. Buid A List. Nothing is more important. You need to build your own list. There are many different ways to do this and this is the key step that most people do not do effectively in my opinion. It took me a while to figure out. Those who know me know that I love MLM Lead System Pro. It’s the most system for building your own list that I’ve found.
6. Get an Auto-Responder Account. I use AWeber but there are a few different and well thought of auto-responders on the market. An auto-responder allows your prospects to “opt-in” to your offer (so it’s SPAM free) and get on your email list. The auto-responder will then follow-up with your prospects via emails that, over time, will improve your conversion rates. They say that a person needs to see an online offer at least 7 times before they buy. Keeping your name and product in front of them will do that for you…on auto-pilot.
7. Email Marketing. Email marketing is the most effective, as well as cost effective, form of online marketing. It enables you to get your message in front of thousands of targeted prospects in minutes. Join listbuilders such as Viral URL and Viral Hosts, and Safelists such as Herculist and List Volta, and Ad Exchanges. Many let you email for free by clicking on emails to earn mail credits. I recommend upgrading in the list builders and safelists if you can afford it. You get a much bigger bang for your buck and you won’t have to click on emails to earn credits.
8. Social Networks. You will want to be in places where you can be seen, to help you to build your reputation online as a leader. At a bare minimum, you need to have a business Facebook account and a Twitter account. There’s a ton of training on how to effectively manage these types of accounts and generate network marketing leads from them. There are plenty of other social networks and forums out there as well. They key with these, as with any of your marketing efforts, is to be consistent. They take time to build them to where they’ll be effective marketing strategies for you. Just keep at it.
9. Video Marketing. Admittedly, this is where I have dropped the ball and this is my main area of focus going into the new year. Video is huge and Google loves video. Creating videos are a great way to get top search engine placement. While I am more drawn in to written ads personally, conversion rates tell me that video works better.
10. Never Stop Learning. This is where you can really separate yourself from your competition. Most adults stop seeking education. What they know is what they know. 3 Simple Tips To Generate An Insane Amount of Network Marketing Leads Using Safelists
I use safelist marketing as a main component of my marketing efforts. Primarily, because safelist marketing is extremely cost-effective. But, I don’t use a marketing strategy just because it is cheap…it has to work as well! Safelist marketing does work and I am going to show you today some simple tips to maximize your safelist marketing and improve your results by up to 300% or even more!
Keep in mind that when people sign up for a safelist account, the generally use a “list email” to receive the emails from other members. The reason being is that you can receive 1000s of emails every day depending on how many safelist accounts you have. This “list email” address is a secondary email address specifically used to receive safelist emails. Not everybody looks at the safelist emails they receive but there are enough marketers out there who are either just looking for opportunities and will read the emails or who are clicking on emails to earn credits so that they can send out their own email ads. The key question is “How Do I Get My Email To Stand Out From The Rest”?
1. USE WHITE SPACE: One way to get your emails to stand out from the pack is by the use of “white space”. The eye is naturally drawn to something that is different or unique. Indent your subject line by 5-10 spaces with the space bar to create white space. This will make your subject line actually look like it is beginning towards the middle of most other subject lines, making yours different and helping it to stand out.
2. INTRIGUING SUBJECT LINES: It is imperative to write eye-catching or intriguing subject lines to make sure that enough people open your emails. My most effective subject lines either ask a question or contain an incomplete thought. For example…”I Used To Make $0.00 Also…Until…” I like to make use of the “…” as it’s eye catching as well creates a desire to learn the answer. Test out your own subject lines and stick with the ones that give you the best results.
3. CONSISTENCY: The most important piece of the marketing puzzle, and where many network marketers fail, is consistency. You need to send out your email ads every day. If you do this simple task, you will be more effective than 95% of your competition. Marketing on a safelist is similar to having a small store on a busy 4 lane “main street usa” road with a lot of competition. Every day, those business owners hang signs telling the people that drive by their store every day that they have slashed prices or are having a sale or have the best Pizza in town. Today might not be the right day for you to shop there but if they can keep catching your eye, one day you will stop in. It’s the same with Safelists.

Generate Free Network Marketing Leads With Safelists
As network marketers, the most important thing that we can do in our business is generate leads. We need to be able to create a consistent flow of network marketing leads into our business. Preferably at the lowest cost possible. But…how do we do that?
There are many marketing strategies that you can implement to achieve this goal. Many of the top strategies cost money and require that you have an advertising budget. I understand that there are a lot of people just getting started in network marketing who might not have the budget to run pay-per-click campaigns or use the more expensive strategies.
So…what does the network marketer on a budget do to generate high quality, targeted leads into their business on a daily basis? There are numerous ways to achieve our goal, which I will cover in subsequent articles. Today I want to discuss Safelist Marketing.
Safelists are databases of network marketers, who all sign up so that they can email their ads to other network marketers. You can join for Free and remain a free member to use the site, which makes safelist marketing a completely free strategy. You can upgrade your account so that you will not have to read emails but to keep this strategy free, you will need to read the emails of other members.
It is advisable to join credit-based safelists. A credit-based safelist will give the members who read the emails credits for doing so. You can then use those credits to send your ads. The number of members you can mail to will typically depend on the number of credits you’ve accumulated. The advantage of credit-based safelists is that there are many members who are using this as a free strategy to generate network marketing leads so emails do get read.
When setting up your safelist account (and, as with all network marketing sites you should use a free gmail account because of spam filters at other email carriers), you will need to set up a “list” email address. This is the email address that the safelist emails will go to. You will get thousands a day which is why you do not want to use your contact email address!
I recommend utilizing the “manage labels” feature of gmail to separate your emails by safelist. You’ll want to set up a label for each safelist. That way, it’ll be much easier to focus on any given safelist that you are accumulating credits for.
The key to effective safelist marketing is you need to put a major emphasis on your SUBJECT. If your email doesn’t get opened, it can’t get read! The subject must entice the person. I like to use subjects that entice me to open emails. Makes sense, right? If I want to open the email I assume that others do as well. After that, it is imperative that your opening paragraph capture the readers attention. Even if it doesn’t, your splash page or website capture page still has a chance to grab them because that is what the reader will see after they click on the link to claim their credits.
It’s important to track your marketing efforts so that you will know which safelists are responsive — have enough active members who are reading the emails and you are generating leads from them — and which are not. You also need to remain consistent. You need to do this strategy every day, or as often as possible, because safelist marketing is a numbers game like all lead generation strategies.
I use safelists in my marketing efforts to generate network marketing leads for my business. Personally, I do not recommend using this strategy as a stand-alone, but rather as an additional free or low cost strategy in addition to whatever else you are doing. It shouldn’t be ignored because of the low-cost. If you can afford it, I would recommend upgrading your membership in a few safelists so that you don’t need to open emails to be able to mail. This will help you leverage your time to focus on other marketing strategies.
