Step-By-Step Strategy To Generate MLM Leads & Sign-Ups Using Yard Signs
There are tons of different marketing strategies that one can use to build their network marketing business and I’m going to share one with you today that I just learned about but have not tried yet personally although I plan to. Thanks to my membership in My Lead System Pro (you can check it out HERE, I have access to top-notch training 24/7 by some of the top marketers in the industry. This particular training was presented by one of MLSP’s leaders, Adam Chandler – check out his blog HERE.
This network marketing prospecting strategy is cheap, simple and easily duplicated (essential for MLM business building). The nice thing about it is that it doesn’t involve the internet or technical skills whatsoever! It involves using Cheap Yard Signs, a voicemail message, and your company’s presentation. That’s it!
How To “Cheap Sign” Your Way To Success
Step #1: Order your signs (these are called Realtor Signs or Yard Signs). A site that sells them is www.cheapsigns.com. Looks like you can get 100 shipped with the stakes to place in the ground for under $400. I’m sure there are plenty of other places that sell these signs as well so do your due diligence. 100 signs will go along way. You want to place these signs around town in high-traffic’d areas – busy intersections, highway on-ramps, etc.
Step #2: Adam recommended a YELLOW background with BLACK wording for the best response. Here’s an example of the sign that he recommends using…
Step #3: You’ll need to get an 800# or 888#. Personally, I use www.Kall8.com. It costs $2.00/month for the number and they bill per minute at a very low rate. We’re talking peanuts here. Adam recommended www.evoice.com.
Step #4: You’ll want to “weed out” your true prospects by sending them to a voicemail message so you don’t waste your time talking to tire-kickers and people who have nothing better to do than call numbers on signs! Here’s Jeffrey Combs “90 Second Voicemail Script” (which I use for another project) that’s simple and works:

Step #5: Follow-up with the people who sound like they’re legitimate prospects. Rinse and Repeat!
It doesn’t get much easier than that! I’ll let you know how I make out. I have personally never done any local recruiting but know that I need to. This is the perfect strategy to start with. Are Lead Scrapers a Good Network Marketing Business Tool?

While lead scraper software have been around for some time, I’ve just become familiar with them and wanted to provide you with my initial thoughts. Maybe you’ve been considering getting a Lead Scraper or maybe this is a lead generating tool that you aren’t familiar with. In any event, I hope my post will provide you with some insight.
What is a Lead Scraper?
A lead scraper is simply a piece of software that searches the internet for email addresses and phone numbers (and sometimes additional information) based on the parameters you put in. For example, since we’re network marketers looking to market to other network marketers for the most part, you might put in the name of a competing MLM company. In about 20-30 minutes, you’ll receive back a file of 100s or 1000s of email addresses or phone numbers of people who’s websites mentioned the targeted company.
The Benefits of a Lead Scraper
It’s a very cost effective way to get A LOT of relatively targeted names and numbers to market to. You will also get back some junk in your search that you’ll need to purge. This is purely a numbers game. You’re playing the mass-marketing game when using a lead scraper. The trade-off is it’s cheap. You can buy a scraper for under $100 and own it for life. What Do You Do With The Leads?
There’s a few different things you can do with the leads to convert them to prospects and sign-ups:
- Call them directly
- Send a Voice Broadcast to the entire list
- Send an Email Blast with a bulk emailer
I would recommend only sending 1 message to avoid numerous spam complaints.
I do not use a lead scraper daily but my thought is that we as marketers should implement many different strategies to see what works best for us. PLUS, it’s a good idea to have at least 3 or 4 different strategies working at the same time. Using a scraper is very inexpensive and lets you find and market to a large number of prospects very quickly.

Inexpensive Network Marketing Prospecting Tip #10 – FREE Webinars

A great tip to learn how to grow your network marketing business is to attend FREE webinars. There are webinars being held every day and night by leaders in the network marketing industry.
While it is true that the host of the webinar usually has a motive for holding the webinar – either the sale of a product, recruiting into their MLM, or simply Personal Branding (and you just need to know this going in) – the free training and information that can walk away with can really help you grow.
The “online” network marketing industry is extremely competitive. To try and separate yourself from the competition you need to be able to build relationships and provide value. Providing value is usually done by sharing “quality information” for FREE (like I do with this blog lol!). Take advantage of this and try to attend at least 1 webinar a week. I am not saying buy everything that is being sold but attend with a notepad and pen and learn.
That’s it…pretty simple, huh? Now, in the words of the almighty sneaker company, “JUST DO IT”!

Inexpensive Network Marketing Prospecting Tip #11 – Email Marketing

Hey guys. THIS IS IT if you are someone who likes “Instant Gratification” (who doesn’t?). In this next installment of my “inexpensive network marketing prospecting tips”, I’m going to talk about email marketing. If done right, email marketing will generate immediate leads for you.
I still talk to people who are trying to market their business online but are not using this simple yet effective strategy and it makes me scratch my bald head! Why not?
In this article, I am not going to talk about specific sites but I will provide you with some ideas as well as a basis for how to write your emails for maximum effectiveness.
Some simple sites to sign up for, that typically allow you to send a few “solo ads” (which are email ads to the membership base) for free when you first join are Ad Exchanges & Credit Based Safelists & List Builders. The membership is encouraged to click on the ads in order to earn credits so that they can send their own solo ads. Pretty cool idea. It is not recommended to try to pitch expensive products to this group as your results will be dismal. You want to use these sites to generate leads either for your training site, lead generation site, or your MLM business (Don’t look at me like that…it’s OK to try to recruit directly into your business from time to time 
).
The link that you include when sending a solo ad should ALWAYS direct the prospect to your Lead Capture Page. This way, when they don’t immediately purchase or upgrade into your business you will still have their information so that you can follow-up with them (with your autoresponder).
The most important part of email marketing is to get your emails opened! This is done by having a “catchy” subject line. The best rule of thumb here is to see other people’s ads to you and see what catches your eye. That’s most likely a good subject line. You’ll also notice that many subject lines will be very similar and kind of blend into one another. Avoid these subject lines!
Personally, I recommend that the body of your email be short. If you are allowed to put a link in the body of the email, put it towards the top. Otherwise, all you want to do here is to tell the reader a little bit to entice them to click the link to your capture page. Do not tell them exactly what the product or your company is. Do not lie because this can come back to bite you!

Inexpensive Network Marketing Prospecting Tip #12 – Banner Advertising

My Inexpensive Network Marketing Prospecting Tip for today is Banner Advertising. I will give you some ideas of where to place your banners, but I also have recorded a video that will show you HOW to place a banner on a site.
Banner Advertising is a form of online advertising that still works well and is very cheap. Everyone remembers back in the days before pop-up blockers…your internet surfing experience would be filled with annoying pop-up banners that seemingly would not go away. People became conditioned that these banners were “annoying” and their effectiveness waned. Nowadays, you have the ability to “laser target” your banner advertising specifically to the audience that you want to see your banner. You can do PPC, PPV, or Pay for a certain period of time. There are also many advertising sites specifically for network marketers that let members place banners for other members to see.
Some of the ways that you can advertise a banner online include:
- Pay Per Click and Pay Per View (on search sites such as Google in addition to many others such as AdClickMedia, which place ads on other targeted sites for you).
- Find a website or blog that ranks highly for a well-searched keyword in your niche such as “Home Based Business” and place a banner on sites that rank 1st or 2nd for that keyword. You might pay anywhere from $125 – 250 per month or more to place your banner on the site. The traffic you receive with be very targeted.
- There are advertising sites specifically for network marketers to advertise to other network marketers. These sites are called Ad Exchanges or Safelists. They will also usually have an email marketing component to them but they usually let you place banner ads as well. These sites are free to join and the entire membership is made of your target market.
HOW TO SET-UP A BANNER AD:
It is very simple when you understand what you are trying to do. You generally need 2 URLs to correctly place your banner ad:
1. The URL where the banner is hosted. This could be an affiliate or your primary company that provides banners for its members and hosts them for them. You might also need to self host your banner – upload the banner image from your computer to your hosting company.
2. The URL to your capture page. This the url that you want the person clicking on your banner to be re-directed to. 99% of the time, this will be your lead capture page.

Inexpensive Network Marketing Prospecting Tip #13 – Business Cards

This is the first in a series of simple network marketing prospecting tips you can implement immediately to help you with your MLM recruiting efforts.
To succeed in network marketing, you need to always be prospecting. I’m sure that you have heard that term before. And that doesn’t mean you have to badger your friends and family every single day and risk getting cut out of Aunt Bertha’s will! There are plenty of simple, cheap, creative yet effective ways that you can implement your daily network marketing prospecting.
I know that I always talk about marketing your network marketing or MLM business online, because that is what I know and how I primarily market my business. But today I’m going to talk about a simple “off-line” strategy.
1 Simple strategy is the use of business cards to market your MLM business. You can get business cards really cheap at http://vistaprint.com, which is where I’ve bought some. I am sure there are plenty of other similar sites. Just carry your business cards with you at all times and leave them behind where ever you go. I leave mine at book stores (putting a card inside a personal development or motivational type book IS target marketing!), the dry cleaners, grocery store, restaurants, on ATM machines, etc. You can drop a business card anywhere and you never know who’s going to pick it up!
I recommend putting your capture page as your website link on your business card and keeping the card generic BUT including your name, phone number, and email address. You could also design business cards with your company name on it in the event that you give your card to someone who you are already speaking to about your specific business opportunity because it would be silly to then direct that person to a lead capture page!

Everyday Prospecting For Your Network Marketing Business!

Never a day goes by that I am not on a network marketing prospecting mission. I know that I need to bring leads to my business everyday if I expect my business to continue growing. Do you treat your business this way?
I’m not saying that you need to generate 100 leads everyday. I’m just saying that you need to set your business up so that, even when you are on vacation, you can generate network marketing leads.
I speak with many people daily who ask me what they should do to generate leads for their business. There are many different strategies that you can use, and they all work. These strategies include article marketing, video marketing, social media, pay per click, banners, and email advertising. It is important that you select 1 or 2 strategies and try to master them.
Implementation is the key. Don’t try to become an expert before you start marketing, because no matter how much you learn before hand much of what ultimately works for you will be based on trial and error. Constant tweaking to improve your results. I see most people fail because they fail to implement. Or, at least, they fail to implement consistently.
I had a conversation with a team member recently who asked me for help with their marketing efforts. Solo ads produce results immediately and are very cost effective. Free in some cases. So I told that team member to send a solo ad – I told them where to sign up for free and gave them a promo code for some solo ads. A week later I asked them how it went. They hadn’t sent the email yet! No Action = No Results!
I’m probably dating myself but there’s an old saying…”You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”.
Take action today and see what happens. Then, take action again tomorrow. Before you know it, you will be generating prospects for your network marketing business everyday and be thinking about quitting your job and living the home based business lifestyle!
