Leadership = Network Marketing Success
The pending launch of AlphaNetworker 2.0 got me thinking about how Leadership equates to Network Marketing Success and what that means to the average home based business owner.
Ryan Angelo separates typical network marketers in 3 categories: Alphas (the leaders), Pre-Alphas (the people who have leadership qualities but for whatever reason aren’t there quite yet), and Betas (the followers – who make up about 95% of our industry). My experience tells me that this categorization is pretty spot-on.
The real key for recruiting and growing your MLM or network marketing business is to focus on your ability to grow the leadership qualities of the Pre-Alphas and Betas since they will make up the vast majority of your downline. Leadership skills can be taught and leaders and be created. The 1 problem lies in the fact that you do not which Betas are unwilling to learn and grow (and there are many). The only way to truly figure this out (although sometimes you know right away to which I say don’t even sign those people) is by seeing for yourself.
An example of a Beta who is unable to grow into even a Pre-Alpha would be a person who can never remember how to log-in to their back-office (trust me, these people do exist!), don’t ever attend company webinars, and never recruit anyone into the business. They flat-out do not try. YET, they will hop around from biz opp to biz opp thinking the next one will contain the magic for their success. This is a “Loser Mentality”. These people do not make money & will frustrate you, as they have me, until you learn to just move on. Do not let the “Unwilling Betas” sap your energy or spirit.
I believe that the biggest, most realistic, area to target for the average network marketer is the Pre-Alphas. These people are willing to work & learn. They understand that they are building their own business and are willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. They may be brand new or have just struggled in the past for whatever reason. The Pre-Alphas have what it takes to succeed and, with the proper nurturing and training will become the next leaders of your organization.
The good news is LEADERSHIP can be learned. BUT, you need to be someone who wants to be a leader. The skills can be learned but the desire cannot be taught. Strive to be a leader and you will see that effort reflected in your commission checks!

3 Simple Tips To Make Money With Your Network Marketing Blog

Having a blog, and maintaining a blog, is imperative if you expect to succeed online in your network marketing business. So, you must have a network marketing blog! That’s great but what do you do with it and how do you make money from it? That is exactly what I am going to show you today. I will share with you 3 EXTREMELY SIMPLE tips that you absolutely need to (and can) implement immediately.
TIP #1: Keyword Optimization: Write your articles with a purpose. Some will say otherwise but I’ve noticed that many network marketing blogs out there generate the majority of their traffic through forums (which is also a good strategy), I believe that you need to get visitors to your blog through organic search – specifically from Google. You need to write articles about keywords that people are searching for. The tool that I use to choose my keywords, because it’s inexpensive and takes all the guess work out of the process, is Market Samurai. You can Check Out Market Samurai HERE.
A good way to generate traffic is to write “reviews” of various home based business opportunities. The newer, the better. I would not try to tackle Amway right away because it will take you a long time to get a first page ranking. For example, I was one of the first to write a review of One24. I have been steadily getting about 50 search engine visitors a day to my site JUST FROM THAT ONE ARTICLE, which in turn generates leads for me! The keywords that I will always use when writing a review article are as follows: companyname, companyname review, companyname scam, companyname compensation plan, company owner’s name.
Tip #2: Opt-In Box: You must have an opt-in box on your site, and it should be positioned “above the fold” so it can be seen by visitors without having to scroll down. The purpose of the opt-in box is to capture leads name and email address so that you can build your list. What you provide back to the lead in return for their name and email address can be a newsletter, free video series on recruiting, network marketing training, your own product…the list goes on. Just make sure that you are providing value back so that you develop a positive relationship with your list.
Tip #3: Affiliate Banners: You need to have banners on your blog (the right side of your blog is recommended as it’s been proven to convert better than the left side for some reason) for some of the affiliate programs that you are involved in. We all want to sign people up in our primary business, but as crazy as it sounds most visitors will not sign up for your primary business. Network marketers are always looking for productivity tools and training though. These are the types of products to promote with banners on your site. Personally, I change mine up from time to time depending on how well they are converting and I would recommend that you do the same.

The Secret To Making Money Online In Network Marketing
First of all, let me say that there is really no “secret” to making money online in your network marketing business! It just seems like a secret because so many people struggle earning even a dime in their business. There are many different ways to go about making a substantial income in network marketing. I want to share with you my opinion of how to set up your business, that will give you your best chance of achieving network marketing success.
1. Sales Funnel: A sales funnel is important because it enables you to earn from many different sources (typically affiliate programs). This income will generally not be huge money but will provide you with enough income to at least cover your advertising expenses and possible even more. The way it works is that you join a “sales funnel” program (unless you create your own) and promote that program. Your direct referrals will be exposed to every affiliate program in your sales funnel and you earn when they join the affiliate programs.
2. Direct Sales or G.P.T. Business: We all hear of and experience the dreaded “inactive downlines” and high network marketing attrition rate. This is just an unfortunate part of our industry. The typical network marketer will recruit 2.3 people. That’s the industry average. So, all of these programs that require you to build a downline of 100s or 1000s in order to earn a substantial income sound great but don’t work perfectly. The people that have massive success with these traditional MLM style programs are monster recruiters. Sure, you try to teach duplication but…
So, I am a believer in joining a business that pays you for each sale that you make. You can certainly also just sell products — something that will pay you for your efforts and your efforts alone. Most direct sales businesses will also pay you an override on sales made by your team.
3. Residual Income Business: I do also believe that you should be in a business that will provide you with a residual or passive income. A business that will pay you for the work that you do to assist your team and in turn, the work that your team does. OK, I’m not a hypocrite! As much as I don’t care for the traditional high-cost MLM, I still understand that you should have a business that allows you earn off of the efforts of others. Depending on what you like, there are cycling programs, matrix programs, board programs that range in price from $10 a month to $200 a month with some one-time payment programs as well.
Do your due diligence when researching these companies. Don’t just fall for the hype. Ideally, you will want to partner with a mentor who will help you to succeed by providing you with marketing and business building assistance. Good luck…it is my sincere feeling that if you truly desire success in your network marketing business and are prepared to do the necessary work, you will achieve it beyond your wildest dreams!

Primo Vacations Is NOT A Scam!
It cracks me up that everybody researching a home based business opportunity wants to know if it’s a “scam”! The fact of the matter is that most of the “review” information that you can find online about network marketing opportunities are written by people who have motives that you can’t always determine…they are either looking to sell you on the business or product or slam their competition so that they can sell you on their business or product. That’s it!
I wrote an article a couple of weeks ago about Primo Vacations and I have found that I am getting traffic to my blog (which is what I want!) from people searching Primo Vacations Scam. It just seems a normal search term in the home based business industry but I don’t think it should be. Although, TVI might make me look bad on that front! TVI unfortunately looks like it may have been a scam all along. That’s too bad…it’s like the few Major League baseball players who were caught doing steroids. It’s tough to look at any player now who is successful and not think that they must be doing steroids too! But, imagine when you researching an offline business…Is Red Lobster a scam? Is American Airlines a scam?
Primo Vacations may not be for everyone, because nothing ever is, but it is a legitimate home based business owned by Rob Hanley, who also owns and runs the successful YourNetBiz program. There is nothing illegal or scammish about either the company or owner. It’s not an MLM but rather a direct sales business where the product you sell actually has value on the open market that is at least equal to its’ price, which is unusual. If you take the tour, you will note that not a penny was spared in creating the best marketing system that I have seen on the internet. Plus, the people involved in marketing the business are all top marketers who take their businesses very seriously. A good sign in my book!
Now, the real reason that people tend to think network marketing businesses are scams is that the masses do not succeed. It’s really that simple. I’ve spoken many times about the high failure rate in network marketing. But, the reason for the high failure rate in my opinion, is that people never learn how to properly market their business and they don’t spend enough time trying to learn and/or they aren’t willing to spend any money to advertise. You need to spend either time or money (or preferably both) to achieve the desired network marketing success. It’s not hard…you just have to “want it’!
Continue to do your due diligence before joining any program and research your sponsor as well. Just realize that most “scam” articles have an ulterior motive

Why Is The Network Marketing Failure Rate So High?
I got to thinking about this yesterday and thought I’d write a quick post about my opinion of why the network marketing failure rate is so high and causes so many people to quit. In my humble opinion, network marketing offers tremendous opportunity for wealth creation for the average person. The entry fee to start your online business is inexpensive and the upside is great. The low entry fee is why many people who do not have the entrepreneurial drive get involved. They are suckered in by claims by companies of making gobs of money while the marketer is either sleeping or on the beach.
To succeed online, it takes work. To most people, this is a 4-letter word George Carlin should have included in his skit from years ago (those of you my age will know what I’m talking about)! To give you an example, I received an email from one of my downline members recently who had received an email from his downline member. His downline member was wondering if the program she had joined was really going to work because she hadn’t gotten any sign-ups in her 1 day of marketing! She was thinking that the program might be a scam! This, unfortunately, is the mindset of the majority of “network marketers” and contributes greatly to the 97% failure rate and high attrition rates that we always hear about. This failure rate is the same with people starting off-line businesses as well.
Most people are just not cut out to run their own business. It’s not in their make-up and that’s OK. But, this makes the failure rate arbitrarily high. I have no way of proving this but the failure rate of people who actually apply themselves and have a success-oriented mindset is much lower than 97%. Probably lower than 50%.
Another contributing factor is “The grass is always greener on the other side”. This statement is rarely true. I’ve learned this the hard-way throughout the years in my offline business life. The key is to find a business opportunity, or a few, that you believe in and that are legitimate, and work those programs. If you don’t know how to market, learn. That’s what I’m doing with MyLeadSystemPro. I have been in sales and marketing for my entire 20 plus year career and had done some internet marketing but nothing like this. Online network marketing is dynamic and we all need to learn as much as we can and apply what we learn in our marketing efforts, even if it’s not perfect. This applies to any business: If you educate yourself consistently, you will know more than 95% of your competition. Most people are either overwhelmed or too lazy (sorry) to apply themselves.
Then, it is the sponsor’s job to relay this information onto their members. I have been involved in a few business opportunities where I never hear from my sponsor. Even when I reached out to them! I don’t think they’d answer the door if I showed up at their house and knocked! These people will never be successful. No matter what your experience level, you need to educate, mentor, and motivate your downline. Sometimes this can be difficult because they are not receptive but you still need to do it. This will come back to you ten-fold because your message will resonate with some.
Basically, it is my opinion that the network marketing failure rate is inflated by the people who shouldn’t be in the business to begin with. With a negative mindset, there is no way to be successful. Without seeking out and following a proven system, it will take a long time to realize some success and it might be too long. For those who are giving real effort, and consistently educating themselves, I assure you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Do not give up because this is a great business with plenty of room for everyone who wants to…to succeed. And create the lifestyle that they’ve always dreamed of.
